The first problem with the viral narrative is procedural. The Royal Household states on its own website that it is not a public authority under the UK Freedom of Information Acts and is therefore exempt from them. That makes the core claim — that Buckingham Palace or the Royal Household released internal Frogmore Cottage security footage through an FOI request — highly implausible on its face. Additional public guidance from the UK information regime also says FOIA does not directly apply to the Royal Family or Royal Household. The second problem is the absence of any official trace.
